Tipperary Energy Agency (TEA)

Tipperary Energy Agency is a Non-profit public good local Energy Agency. It was established in 1998 under the EU SAVE program. It provides services to public bodies, communities and SME’s. The Energy Agency provides significant consultancy to the national Energy Agency on the public sector programme. In addition the Energy Agency completes significant research, development and demonstration projects and programmes for all sectors of society. The Energy Agency has received significant awards in Ireland and Europe for both itself, it’s staff and it’s clients. The agency’s four key areas of expertise are:

  • They provide a range of building design and energy services to improve the energy performance of existing and new buildings
  • They provide renewable energy expertise including consultancy, feasibility, detailed design, public procurement, tendering, project management and grant coordination
  • They provide training and education for communities, SMEs, energy professionals and citizens across Ireland. They have demonstrated our work to policy makers, industry representatives, and the media
  • They support communities in shaping the energy transition. They have mentored multiple SEC’s to develop Energy Master Plans. They have coordinated Better Energy Communities applications since 2016. They spearheaded Ireland’s only community wind farm and continue to support Ireland’s only community renewable energy supplier, Community Power.
