6th Call of the European City Facility Open

The 6th Call for Application of the European City Facility (EUCF) is open between the 15th of January and the 15th of March 2024. The 6th call has an overall budget of €4.5 million, financing 75 proposals.

Who is eligible?

Eligible applicants of the EUCF are municipalities, local authorities, their groupings, and local public entities aggregating municipalities / local authorities, from the EU-27 Member States, Iceland or Ukraine.

In order to be eligible for EUCF, applicants must have a Covenant of Mayors Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) or other local climate or energy plan with mitigation targets.

What is financed?

Each successful applicant receives a lump-sum payment of €60.000. The EUCF finances the development of an investment concept on clean energy projects. The EUCF grant can be used for a number of activities: feasibility studies, legal analysis, stakeholders’ engagement…

Applicants can seek guidance from their country experts and participate in the national info-sessions to learn more about EUCF.

What can energy agencies do?

Energy agencies are the best placed to support interested applicants, especially small municipalities, in their EUCF journey.

They can be hired by the EUCF beneficiaries to carry out the activities financed through the EUCF grant, including activities of project management.
