New Frontiers in Sustainable Construction
This year’s nominees reflect a bold shift in sustainable building, embracing new challenges and pushing the limits of eco-friendly design.
🏭 Decarbonising high-impact sectors: Factories, aquatic centres, and laboratories—typically energy-intensive—are now adopting groundbreaking low-carbon solutions.
🌱 Scaling up circular construction: More projects are integrating bio-based, geosourced, and recycled materials, proving that sustainability is no longer a niche approach but a growing standard.
🏚 Retrofitting for the future: In France and beyond, renovation efforts are accelerating, addressing energy inefficiencies and cutting emissions in existing structures.
🏕 Reimagining space and function: This edition features unconventional projects—from churches and ski shelters to geodesic greenhouses and coworking spaces—demonstrating how sustainability can adapt to any setting.
🌿 A stronger emphasis on green infrastructure: From soil permeability strategies to energy-efficient networks, urban spaces are being redesigned to enhance resilience and mitigate climate risks.
A Global Movement for a Greener Built Environment
This year, 26 countries are represented, featuring both regular contenders like Belgium, France, Morocco, and Spain, and exciting new participants from Brazil, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, and Sri Lanka.
