Call for Climate Experts to Support Fact-Checking

The EuroClimateCheck Experts Database connects climate researchers with fact-checkers to combat misinformation and ensure science-based climate information is widely accessible.

Misinformation about climate change spreads rapidly across borders, languages, and platforms, delaying effective climate action. The EuroClimateCheck (FactCRICIS) project, led by the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN), is tackling this challenge by building a reliable database of climate experts to support fact-checkers in their work.

Fact-checking organisations often struggle to access verified, specialised knowledge when debunking climate-related false claims. The EuroClimateCheck Experts Database bridges this gap, ensuring fact-checkers have fast, secure access to scientific expertise, fostering collaboration, and improving public trust in climate information.

Why Join the Experts Database?

By joining the database, climate scientists, researchers, and subject-matter experts can play a crucial role in countering false narratives and promoting science-based climate information. The database enables fact-checkers to connect with experts, ensuring that accurate, evidence-based knowledge is available when addressing misinformation.

✔ Support Climate Fact-Checking – Help debunk misleading climate claims with scientific accuracy.
✔ Increase Public Trust – Contribute to a fact-based information space for the European public.
