Founded in 1991, B.&S.U. Beratungs- und Service-Gesellschaft Umwelt mbH (B&SU) is an independent company committed to the sustainable development of society and the energy transition. Their activities focus on sustainable urban and regional development, climate protection in municipalities, energy efficiency, renewable energies, climate protection and adaptation to climate change. In addition, they act as programme executing agency for the Berlin Senate, develop practice-oriented projects with national and European partners, evaluate programmes and support the implementation of sustainable development measures.
They proactively use our technical, management and financial expertise for their clients and partners and take responsibility for the success of the projects.
Their staff has a broad knowledge base in environmental technology and science, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, management systems and training, and outreach. These skills, coupled with many years of experience in overall project management, ensure the successful implementation of projects at European and national level. The B&SU has excellent working experience in municipal energy and climate planning. They manage the German office of the European Energy Award (eea) - a quality management and certification system for municipalities and regions. The European Energy Award is used by more than three hundred municipalities in Germany to systematically implement their climate protection activities. In addition, the B&SU has developed the European Climate Adaptation Award (eca), a quality management and certification programme for municipalities to adapt to climate change. The eca is made available to municipalities in Germany and serves to promote and anchor climate adaptation activities in administrative action.
