Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Énergie Environnement (AURA-EE)

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Énergie Environnement (AURA-EE) is the regional energy and environment agency of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Created in 1978 with the support of the Regional Council, the agency aims at promoting, co-ordinating and developing programmes and actions in favour of sustainable energies in the building and transport sectors, climate change mitigation and adaptation, environment protection and sustainable development.
Its activities are mainly targeted at local and regional authorities of the public and social sectors. The agency is accompanying them through their process of project development and implementation as well as the definition of local policies and programmes. The agency provides them with technical, economic, financial and legal advice. AURA-EE coordinates the regional energy, climate and waste observatory, providing local and regional data to local stakeholders and supporting their territorial planning process. 

AURA-EE is a private non-profit organization gathering more than 80 members including regional and local public authorities, energy producers, distributors and retailers, NGOs, energy professionals’ organisations, financial bodies.

At national level, AURA-EE is a member of the RARE network of French regional energy agencies and the EUCF national contact point. At International level, AURA-EE is coleader of the EU Energy Strategy for the Alpine macro-region gathering 48 alpine regions and swiss cantons. It is also a founding member of FEDARENE, the European Federation of Agencies and Regions for Energy and Environment.
