The OÖ Energiesparverband is the regional energy agency of Upper Austria. It drives the energy transition with comprehensive activities on energy efficiency, renewable energy, e-mobility, and innovative energy technologies by working with the entire range of stakeholders.
With a broad portfolio of information, training, and funding programmes, the agency serves households, companies and municipalities. For example, each year, over 10,000 face-to-face energy advice sessions are held, and over 80 information events (training courses, conferences, etc.) for public bodies and businesses across the energy transition value chain are organised. ESV manages a range of funding and financing programmes on behalf of the regional government. It operates also the Cleantech-Cluster Energy, a network with over 250 companies actives in sustainable energy and environment.
As the competence centre for energy funding and energy technologies, ESV supports municipalities, institutions, and businesses with tailor-made solutions. It operates 3 “one stop-shops”, one for energy contracting (more than 250 EPC projects were implemented), one sustainable building renovation (more than 200,000 buildings), and one for “Renewable Energy Communities”. ESV is also one of four organisations managing the platform "NEFI – New energy for industry" platform, the Austrian R&D platform for industry decarbonisation. ESV is strongly networked at national, European, and international levels: It organises the annual World Sustainable Energy Days (an international conference with 600+ participants from 50+ countries). It has coordinated over 40 EU-funded projects, was partner in 70+ EU projects.
