Established in 2006, ENERGAP is public energy and climate agency and responsible for the implementation of local energy and climate action plans in municipalities in the region. It is a management, advisory, research, and education center on energy and climate issues and specialist for financing. It cooperates with stakeholders in the region and country. ENERGAP is working towards the development of climate advisory services for citizens in the region.
ENERGAP is the energy manager of Municipality of Maribor (the second biggest in Slovenia) and 20 smaller municipalities in the region. It is the facilitator for public sector and energy services providers in the region. It works with public bodies and service providers to implement energy contracting and similar financial instruments to implement the energy projects mainly in street lighting and buildings. ENERGAP has experts for legal and financial issue connected to the Public-private partnership and public procurement as well as technical experts for energy calculations. ENERGAP acts as a contact point for relations with European networks and institutions as well as an intermediary to local, regional and national players. It has cooperated in more than 30 EU projects.
