Save@work - The Energy Saving Competition for Public Authorities [DE]

The B.&S.U. Beratungs- und Service-Gesellschaft Umwelt mbH, was the lead partner of the save@work project. Save@work was an energy saving competition between 176 public office buildings over 9 participating European regions. It is about bringing employees together, helping them to take charge regarding how they use energy in their building.

By making this project fun and using techniques and online tools, save@work helps energy-conscious organisations and their staff to save energy at work. The winning teams managed to save between 10% and 25% of their average yearly energy consumption, making significant impacts on both their carbon emissions and the financial costs of running their buildings. 17,280 public employees participated in the project.

Together, they managed to save an excess of 6,5 million kWh at their workplace, nearly 1,800 tons of CO2, making a cost saving of around half a million euros.
