Description

A new report from the Coalition for Energy Savings examines the concrete outcomes of the European Union’s energy efficiency legislation and documents how the current policy framework has translated into measurable results across Member States. The publication, titled "Energy Efficiency Delivers: Turning Policy Into Impact", provides an overview of the EU’s core energy efficiency instruments, with a specific focus on the Energy Efficiency Directive, the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, and the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Regulations.

Read the report to learn the analysis of these policies and their role in driving implementation on the ground by influencing investment decisions, supporting market development, and enabling the growth of a competitive European energy efficiency industry.

Through a curated set of practical success stories, the publication illustrates how energy efficiency policies have improved living conditions for citizens while generating economic activity and supporting businesses. These examples demonstrate the operational impact of the existing framework, from deployment and compliance to market uptake and innovation.

The publication advocates for stronger action to ensure that the implementation of energy efficiency policies is not only carried out but is prioritised through political commitment and resources. It also argues that future policies must build on the existing legislative framework to preserve successful initiatives. Finally, it argues that the EU must ensure the predictability needed for stakeholders to continue investing in energy efficiency to deliver on security, affordability, and competitiveness.
