Description

A new publication from the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency showcases how projects supported by the LIFE Programme are driving Europe’s clean energy transition from strategy to real world implementation.

Titled Giving LIFE to Europe’s clean energy transition, the brochure presents 28 projects funded under the LIFE Clean Energy Transition sub programme. It highlights how EU backed initiatives are strengthening planning, financing and delivery mechanisms that enable local and regional authorities to move from ambition to action.

Among the featured initiatives is ManagEnergy, which plays a key role in building the capacity of cities and regions to develop and implement sustainable energy projects. By offering expert support, training and peer learning opportunities, ManagEnergy helps local actors translate climate strategies into bankable investments and concrete projects on the ground.

The brochure presents a comprehensive overview of how the LIFE Clean Energy Transition sub programme supports Europe’s climate and energy ambitions. It highlights progress across key areas such as energy efficiency, renewable energy deployment, innovative financing mechanisms, capacity building for public authorities, citizen engagement, and market uptake of sustainable solutions. Beyond showcasing 28 concrete success stories, the publication also emphasises the human dimension of the transition, recognising the experts, local authorities and practitioners who are turning EU policy objectives into practical results on the ground.

With nearly one billion euros allocated to the LIFE Clean Energy Transition sub programme for 2021 to 2027, the EU continues to back practical solutions that empower cities, regions and energy agencies to deliver measurable impact.

This new publication underlines a clear message: Europe’s clean energy transition is advancing not only through policy frameworks, but through hands on support to the local actors who make it happen.
