The Clean Hydrogen Partnership has launched a new hydrogen research call for proposals, allocating a substantial €113.5 million through Horizon Europe for projects spanning Research and Innovation (R&I) activities throughout the hydrogen value chain.
About the Call
In addition to the €113.5 million, an extra €60 million from the RePowerEU plan budget will support various activities. These include topping up related call topics and establishing a 'Hydrogen Valleys Facility' procurement, contributing to the expansion of Hydrogen Valleys across Europe.
“It is crucial that the Clean Hydrogen JU continues to support the development of innovative, cutting-edge projects that will help materialise the benefits of hydrogen technologies and help us to move forward towards the next generation of products. We invite applications from partners across all EU and associated countries and we hope they will come with solutions that will bring us a step closer to a resilient and sustainable hydrogen economy”
said Mirela Atanasiu, Executive director a.i. , Clean Hydrogen Partnership
The call features funding for various hydrogen-related topics. These include renewable hydrogen production, storage and distribution, transport, heat and power, cross-cutting issues, and hydrogen valleys, with additional funding allocated for the latter to double their presence in the EU by 2025. Topics are categorised into Innovation Actions (IA), Research and Innovation Actions (RIA), and Coordination and Support Action (CSA).
The call emphasises synergies with other European partnerships, programs, Member States, and regional initiatives.
The notification of the call is available in 24 languages in the Official Journal.
Application Process
Interested parties can submit applications until 17 April 2024, via the EU Funding & Tenders Portal Electronic Submission System.
