Alba Local Energy Agency (ALEA)’s priorities, in line with the new Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy initiative, have driven the agency to set itself more ambitious goals

The process adopted by the Abruzzo Region for tackling climate change challenges has been structured in a number of key documents.

The main focus of the regional SEAP is increasing the safety and reliability of energy supply in the Zlín Region and increasing the energy efficiency and renewable energy sources development in the whole area of the Zlín Region which counts for nearly 600.000 inhabitants.

Through the «Pollec» program, Wallonia supports municipalities that put in place action plans in their territory to reduce energy consumption and adapt to climate change.

As a second step in the implementation of the 2020 Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP), Sector 1 in the city of Bucharest is continuing its energy efficiency program for apartment blocks with the replacement of energy inefficient elevators for thermally rehabilitated buildings.

In 2018, The Aegean Energy Agency (AEGEA) helped a number of island municipalities to promote energy efficiency locally by maturing projects in the fields of energy retrofitting of public buildings as well as street lighting.

The Prahova County Council started running the project entitled «Extension, rehabilitation, modernisation and endowment of the integrated ambulatory of Ploiesti Obstetrics Gynecology Hospital» with non-reimbursable European funds, through the Regional Operational Program 2014-2020.

The project has been prepared and implemented in accordance with the provisions of the Energy Rehabilitation Program for Public Buildings of the Ministry of Infrastructure and includes a Cohesion fund from the financial perspective 2014-2020.

Since 2016, the Berlin Energy Agency (BEA), supported by Berlin’s Senate Department for the Environment, Transport and Climate Protection, has been running the project ‘Energy and Climate Protection in Kindergartens’.

SIMPLA is the project for Sustainable Integrated Multi-sector PLAnning, funded from the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

The Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Agency “AE3R Ploiesti-Prahova” is supporting 10 municipalities in the Prahova County to elaborate the "Energy Efficiency Improvement Program" (PIEE).

The Regional Energy Agency North, REA Sjever, started in 2014 the long-term energy retrofitting of the General County hospital Koprivnica into an energy efficient hospital.

In 2017, CKEA and the Kilkenny County Council embarked on an ambitious project to retrofit 1,300 street lights to LED across the city and county of Kilkenny, The Kilkenny Streetlight LED Retrofit Pilot Project.

Considering the success of previous programs launched by the French Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (Energy 2010 and AGIR) and the evolution of the national and international contexts, the Regional Council (PACA) now wants to go further in energy transition.

In February 2017, the base document for constituting the National Agreement for the energy transition of Catalunya was approved.

The Alba Local Energy Agency, ALEA, strongly promoted the Covenant for Mayors initiative (CoM) launched in 2008, identified as a great opportunity for local authorities to have coherence in their sustainable energy planning.
