The Green Hysland project is launching a new Technical Assistance Programme to help islands, cities, and regions kickstart their green hydrogen journey. Selected participants will receive free mentoring and support to develop a pre-feasibility study for hydrogen projects in sectors like transport, buildings, storage, and industry.
This programme aims to accelerate the deployment of renewable hydrogen in island territories, where energy transitions are critical for resilience and sustainability.
🔍 Who can apply?
- Islands, cities, and regions within the EU, including Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) and Outermost Regions (ORs)
- Applicants must be members of the Hydrogen Territories Platform (HTP) (membership is free)
📋 Selection criteria include:
- A clear initial idea for a hydrogen project
- Involvement of diverse stakeholders (local authorities, industries, communities)
- Access to renewable energy resources
- A green hydrogen strategy is an asset but not mandatory
🛠 Support includes:
- An online group workshop with the 10 selected territories
- Tailored one-on-one mentoring sessions
- Project Development Recommendations (PDRs) to help shape next steps
The programme will be led by Enercy and the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation (FHa), both of which have extensive experience in hydrogen deployment on islands and within Hydrogen Valleys.
