The European Commission has launched the European Housing Alliance, an open platform designed to support coordinated action on Europe’s housing challenges.

As part of the European Affordable Housing Plan, the Alliance will bring together Member States, regions, cities and stakeholders to exchange expertise, share best practices and support local, regional and national efforts. It aims to connect policy discussions with realities on the ground and strengthen cooperation across different levels of governance.

The Alliance will operate as an inclusive and flexible platform, focusing on mutual learning, knowledge-sharing and practical cooperation. It will build on existing initiatives and help identify key priorities through regular exchanges and an annual work programme.

Organisations working on housing issues can register their interest in joining the Alliance. An information meeting to help shape its work will take place on 19 June 2026.
