European Energy Communities Facility Launches First Call for Proposals

The first call under the European Energy Communities Facility is now open, offering EU funding to support the development and scaling of energy communities across Europe.

The European Energy Communities Facility has officially launched its first call for proposals, opening on 2 June 2025 and running until 30 September 2025. This new EU initiative, funded under the LIFE Programme, aims to empower citizen-led energy communities across Europe by providing targeted financial support and technical assistance.

The call is open to local energy communities looking to develop, scale, or replicate clean energy projects that support community empowerment, energy democracy, and the green transition.

📌 This first call marks a key milestone in the Facility’s mission to accelerate bottom-up energy initiatives and help meet Europe’s climate and energy goals.

To support applicants, the Facility will host a dedicated info session on 3 June 2025. The session will walk participants through the call’s requirements, evaluation process, and application tips.
