The European Energy Communities Facility has launched its second call for proposals, offering energy communities the opportunity to apply for a €45,000 lump sum grant.

Open until 5 July 2026, the call supports initiatives in developing robust and bankable business plans, covering key preparatory steps such as technical and financial assessments, feasibility studies, and legal procedures.

Who can apply

The call is open to energy communities from EU Member States, as well as Iceland, Moldova, North Macedonia, and Ukraine. Both emerging initiatives and established communities looking to expand their services are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be legally registered, comply with EU definitions for energy communities, and be based in an eligible country.

What support is provided

The grant is designed to help communities move from idea to implementation by funding the groundwork needed to structure a viable and finance-ready project.

To ensure fair access, applications are assessed within regional categories reflecting different national contexts, and evaluated by independent experts.
