The Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) has launched new calls for technical assistance to support local governments in addressing the root causes of energy poverty. Through this initiative, municipalities and organisations working closely with them can apply to receive structured and tailored expert support adapted to their local context.
Selected beneficiaries will receive hands-on guidance in developing and implementing comprehensive work plans, helping them move from analysis to concrete action. The support focuses on identifying structural causes of energy poverty, strengthening local capacity, improving coordination across departments and stakeholders, and designing practical solutions that can deliver long-term impact.
This technical assistance is particularly relevant for communities facing severe energy poverty or structural barriers to adequate energy access. The programme also encourages innovative local approaches that can be tested, strengthened and replicated in other territories.
The initiative builds on the success of the first two calls launched in 2022 and 2023, which led to partnerships with around 85 local governments across Europe. Additional calls will continue between 2025 and 2028, further expanding support to municipalities seeking to strengthen their strategies and deliver targeted, socially inclusive energy measures.
For local and regional authorities looking to reinforce their energy poverty policies with expert backing, this call represents an important opportunity to access free, tailored technical assistance and join a growing European network working toward fair and inclusive energy access.
