- Second workshop on the revision of the Governance Regulation
Description
The European Commission, through its Directorate-General for Energy and Directorate-General for Climate Action, is organising a workshop on the revision of the Regulation on the governance of the Energy Union and Climate Action.
The upcoming legislative proposal, expected in Q4 2026, aims to simplify, strengthen, and modernise the current framework. This revision will support the European Union and its Member States in building a more effective policy environment for the coming decade, reinforcing the European Energy Union and contributing to the long-term goals of the Paris Agreement.
Supporting investment and implementation
A strengthened governance framework is essential to mobilise the investments required for the energy transition. By improving coordination, transparency, and planning, the revised regulation will help unlock financing and accelerate implementation of climate and energy actions across Europe.
This workshop provides a timely opportunity to feed into the ongoing impact assessment and ensure that the revised framework reflects the needs and realities of stakeholders.
A collaborative and inclusive dialogue
Stakeholder engagement is a key pillar of the revision process. Following the public consultation and call for evidence, and earlier discussions with stakeholders, this workshop continues the dialogue by inviting participants to share their perspectives and expertise.
The event will gather a wide range of participants, including representatives from EU institutions, national authorities, financial institutions, industry, NGOs, academia, and energy experts. Contributions from participants will directly inform the preparation of the legislative proposal.
The workshop will be web streamed, allowing broader participation, while interactive exchanges will take place with invited participants attending in person.
