Description
Join the EU Peers Transnational Community on 4 February 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 (Brussels time), for an insightful webinar addressing the growing challenge of energy poverty and the critical role One-Stop Shops (OSSs) play in supporting vulnerable households.
Energy poverty affects many families across Europe, leaving many unable to adequately heat or cool their homes or pay their electricity bills. Recognising this pressing issue, OSSs have been increasingly tailoring their services to assist energy-poor households in navigating the renovation process and improving energy efficiency.
This webinar will bring together experts, practitioners, and stakeholders to explore effective strategies for empowering energy-poor households and fostering their successful participation in renovation initiatives. Attendees will gain insights into real-world case studies, innovative approaches, and practical solutions for tackling energy poverty at the grassroots level.
What to Expect:
- An Overview of Energy Poverty and OSS Solutions:
Dora Biondani from the European Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) will provide an introduction to energy poverty, its causes, and the unique role of OSSs in alleviating it. - Case Studies of Innovative Projects:
- Reverter (Greece): Dimitris Damigos will share insights into creating roadmaps to reduce household vulnerability and support energy-poor families.
- EcoVision (Ireland): Máirtín Ó Méalóid will present how resilient communities are tackling energy poverty through innovative approaches and collective action.
- Expert Reactions and Open Discussion:
Carole Schaal from Stop à l’exclusion energitique and other experts will share their perspectives on the presented case studies. An open debate will follow, inviting participants to contribute their views and ideas. - Wrap-Up and Key Takeaways:
The EU Peers team will summarise the session and outline key points to implement in future OSS initiatives.
