Description

Municipalities, researchers, and consultants of European Cities are welcome to register for NetZeroCities' Online Planning Lab, a free online course. The first session of the course will take place on September 16th, 2025, with the final session taking place on December 12th, 2025. By participating, attendees will learn how to drive systemic change in pursuing municipal climate neutrality through a project-based Mini-Lab where cities are guided to develop their systemic action plans.
The course will take place twice a week for 2-hour sessions from September 16th onwards. The programme will be made up of 6 core sessions and 20 spotlight sessions.
The modules focus on topics related to the net-zero transition, such as developing the capacity to pursue the climate transition and accessing funding for climate action. The course draws on the experiences of 112 European cities that have already developed Climate City Contracts and is designed to be collaborative and interactive.
If a participant does not identify with a specific municipality, they will be encouraged to choose a city to focus on during the course, as they will be guided to develop a systemic action plan for a city. Each city is encouraged to have at least 2 participants to implement the systemic change required for the transition.
Participants are welcome to attend single sessions, as they will receive links to each session if registered. However, participation in all 6 core sessions will result in receiving a certificate of participation from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Key resources for the sessions will also be shared in advance.
