Description

How the energy transition is communicated can strongly influence how people understand, support and engage with it. This webinar will explore how local and regional narratives can help make the energy transition more concrete, relatable and trusted.

Drawing on input from more than 1,300 experts and stakeholder workshops across the EU, Energy Efficiency Watch 5 examined which narratives help open people up to change, and which may create resistance or distance. One key lesson is that the messenger matters: local and regional transition leaders, including Energy Agencies, energy communities and public authorities, are often best placed to connect European objectives with everyday realities.

The session will bring the conclusions and policy lessons from EEW5 into dialogue with the EU Covenant of Mayors community. It will link these reflections to concrete engagement actions, including Homegrown Energy, Cities Heat Detox and Cities Refresh.

The webinar will also highlight the first-hand perspective of local energy transition leaders on what it means to speak with citizens about renovation, heating, local energy production and neighbourhood-scale climate action.
