- Inclusive Renovation: How OSS can tackle Energy Poverty
Description
Across Europe, around 34 million people are affected by energy poverty, struggling to maintain adequate heating or cooling in their homes. With a large share of the EU building stock still energy inefficient, accessible and inclusive renovation support is essential.
This online Learning Lab, organised by Climate Alliance as part of the EU Peers initiative, focuses on the role of One-Stop Shops (OSS) in identifying and supporting energy-poor households. Participants will gain practical insights into how OSS can design and implement effective solutions, from outreach and engagement to financing mechanisms and tailored renovation pathways.
The event is structured in two sessions:
- 24 March 2026 (10:00-12:00 CET): Understanding energy poverty and the OSS opportunity, including policy frameworks, tools and local approaches
- 25 March 2026 (10:00-12:00 CET): Solution approaches and practical roadmaps for supporting vulnerable households
Speakers will share real-life experiences from organisations such as the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub, Barcelona City Council, and Elektrėnai Municipality, highlighting replicable models and lessons learned.
This session is particularly relevant for energy agencies, local authorities and OSS practitioners looking to strengthen their impact on social inclusion and the energy transition.
