Description
Renewable Energy Communities are helping citizens, municipalities, SMEs and other local actors jointly produce, manage and consume renewable energy. By strengthening local ownership and participation, they can support the clean energy transition while bringing economic and social benefits to communities.
This EUSEW Energy Day will mark the final conference of three LIFE-funded projects: POWER-E-COM, DISCOVER and ISLET. Together, these projects support the development of Renewable Energy Communities across Europe, from cooperation between local authorities and citizens, to One-Stop Shop support services and community energy models for small Mediterranean islands.
The event will bring together practitioners, policymakers and citizens to discuss the main barriers to creating energy communities and how to overcome them. Participants will hear practical insights on community building, business models, governance, transparency and technical aspects, as well as concrete experiences from different national, regional and island contexts.
The event will take place in a hybrid format, in person at Comet Meetings Louise in Brussels and online. Participants attending in person will also be invited to a networking cocktail after the event.
