Description

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA) is hosting a hybrid event on September 30th, 2025, to discuss and reflect on climate action in Europe. Registration to the event is open until September 15th, 2025. Participants are encouraged to attend the event in-person in Brussels, but are also welcome to view it via an online livestream. Wopke Hoekstra, the European Commissioner for Climate, Net-Zero and Clean Growth, will participate in the event, including by taking part in a keynote interview at 11:00 - 11:30 CEST.
What to Expect
During the event, participants will have the chance to reflect on climate action in the European Union since the 2015 Paris Agreement and the 2019 European Green Deal, as well as discuss future action under the European Commission mandate that was formed in 2024. Key objectives of the event include:
- Reaffirming the EU’s commitment to climate neutrality by 2050 during a time of geopolitical uncertainty.
- Putting climate action’s economic and social benefits, for the planet, people, and businesses alike, under the spotlight.
- Highlighting examples of successful climate action to inspire further action.
- Facilitating dialogue, discussion, and collaboration between stakeholders and decision-makers to foster teamwork and impact.
The event is open to the public. Stakeholders such as the following are invited to attend:
- Industry and business leaders
- EU and national policymakers
- Social partners and civil society organisations
- Academia and think tanks
- Media representatives
