- International Training Seminar Sustainable Bioenergy Heating
Description
The Bioenergy Heating 2026 International Training Seminar will take place from 14 to 17 September 2026 in Linz, Austria, offering practical training on sustainable bioenergy heating, market development and technologies.
The seminar focuses on small- to mid-scale bioheat projects using wood pellets and wood chips, including solutions for homes, smaller commercial and public buildings, and district heating grids of up to a few megawatts. Participants will explore success factors for developing local bioheat markets, combustion technologies, emissions, system design, fuel standards, logistics, sustainability, business models, financing and marketing.
Organised by the Energy Academy of OÖ Energiesparverband, the programme combines expert presentations, interactive learning and technical site visits across Upper Austria, one of Europe’s leading sustainable bioheat regions. Site visits will cover different parts of the bioheat supply chain, from boiler and pellet production to wood chip processing, distribution and operating bioenergy heating plants.
The seminar is aimed at representatives of businesses, public bodies, institutions, NGOs and other organisations interested in developing bioheat markets, especially in countries where automatic bioenergy heating is still at an early stage.
The training will be held in English. Registration is open until 1 September 2026, with a limited number of places available. Funding opportunities are available for representatives of public authorities and Energy Agencies upon request.
