- From Pilots to Practice: Scaling Innovative Energy Services with InEExS
Description
Cities, energy market actors and service providers are increasingly looking for ways to move beyond isolated pilot projects and bring innovative energy-service models into wider practice. To share final results and discuss pathways for broader adoption, the InEExS project is hosting a webinar on 18 February 2026 that explores how new approaches can be scaled up across Europe.
The webinar, titled “Beyond the Pilots: Scaling Innovative Energy Services with InEExS,” marks the culmination of the project’s work on digital energy-service models that leverage distributed ledger technology (DLT) and blockchain-based mechanisms. These models have been tested in five flagship business cases in countries such as Germany, Spain, Greece and across the Nordics, offering concrete insights into how smart energy services can support energy performance improvements, behavioural incentives and transparent data management.
Participants will gain first-hand understanding of how technologies such as DLT, tokenisation and performance-based contracts can be used to validate energy savings, encourage consumer engagement and integrate cross-sector services. The session will feature lessons learned from pilot implementation, examples of digital tools for energy management, and discussions on how these solutions align with broader EU energy efficiency goals, including the recast Energy Efficiency Directive (EED).
This event is especially relevant for municipalities, energy communities, ESCOs, utilities, policymakers and financing stakeholders interested in practical models for scaling innovative services that advance energy renovation, efficiency and decarbonisation. By highlighting replicable approaches and insights from real case studies, the webinar offers actionable guidance for actors working to drive the energy transition beyond proof-of-concept initiatives.
